JLR Foundation | Ideawerks Program Sustainability

 

The JLR Foundation has developed 5 key types of partnerships to support the program’s long-term sustainability.

 

PARKS AND RECREATION DEPARTMENTS

Over the past 7 years the JLR Foundation has partnered with the MInneapolis Parks to create music recording studios at Powderhorn Park and Phillips Park.  These critical partnerships provide long-term access to facilities in the communities JLR Foundation serves.

 

PUBLIC LIBRARIES

Our partnerships with Public Libraries also provide access to facilities.  We have worked with 7 Hennepin County Libraries to provide opportunities for kids of all ages to learn about music and video technologies.

 

LOCAL AREA HIGH SCHOOLS

Our partnerships with high schools have allowed us to provide day-time programs for high school students, including those in alternative learning environments.  These Music Camps leverage the state-of-the-art recording equipment in the Powerhorn Park Ideawerks Studio and are generally 2 hours a day and vary from 1-6 weeks in length.

 

HIGHER EDUCATION - INTERNSHIP THROUGH CREDIT PROGRAM

The Ideawerks program is an ongoing opportunity for college students to contribute to the community by teaching in their area of study.  This care for the community then serves the student as their experience teaching transforms into mastery of the skills needed to gain employment in their field of study. The JLR Foundation is a great opportunity for students, communities and institutions to be involved in our children’s educational growth.

 

CORPORATE AND PRIVATE DONORS

Our partnerships with corporate and private donors provide additional financial support for all the JLR Foundation programs.

Over the past 7 years our program at Powderhorn Park has helped over 800 kids learn about music and video technology production. Your support allows us to continue the program. The JLR Foundation is committed to efficient management of its financial resources.  We use the following allocations as guidance for all financial decisions.
